WhatsApp Number(s): Requirements & limitations

  • WhatsApp numbers can be added in the console as an add-on for the pre-stay solution or as part of the in-stay solution. 
  • In both options, you can add your own whatsapp number or we can buy a number of you (already included in the subscription)

In this case, the number is going to be tranferred to the HiJiffy console - which means you will no longer use it on your mobile phone. 

Requirements to transfer the number: 

  • The number needs to be connected to a mobile phone 
  • The number needs to be active
  • You need to uninstall the Whatsapp app from the phone
  • You need to have the phone with you during this process, as a SMS will be sent to the phone number during the transfer process
  • You need to have a META account and follow a few steps, which will be provided by your account manager.

Once the number is transferred - everything related to this number is managed in the HiJiffy console: 

  • You will no longer be able to call this number (on the phone or whatsapp)
  • You will no longer be able to reply manually (type, write) on your phone to your guests (whatsapp or SMS)

If the number you want to transfer is a number that guests call, we strongly recommend not to move forward with this process and to choose the option of buying a number)

Note: For the in-stay solution, if you choose the option of transferring your number(s), we will not be able to send SMS as fallback for the campaigns, in case the guests do not have WhatsApp

In this case, we will buy a US/UK number for you, for each of the properties. The process is handled directly by us. 

Note: Buying a US/UK number will allow us to send SMS as a fallback for the campaigns, in case the guests do not have WhatsApp. Also, the approval process is much faster. 

If you wish to have a number from another country, please contact your account manager to see the viability. Additional documentation may be required to move forward and the SMS fallback may not be possible. 

Requirements to buy a number 

  • You need to have a META account and follow a few steps, which will be provided by your account manager.

Once the number is approved - everything related to this number is managed in the HiJiffy console:

  • It is not possible to call this number (on the phone or whatsapp)
