Cookies used by the HiJiffy widget
What each cookie does, why, and how long it lasts.
When the HiJiffy chat widget sits on your website, it uses a small number of cookies to run the chat and to measure basic usage. It doesn't set any advertising or marketing cookies.
The two kinds we use
- Preferences cookies keep the chat working as the guest expects, for example, remembering whether the widget is open or closed, and loading the last conversation.
- Statistics cookies record basic, privacy-respecting usage events (such as when the widget is shown) so the service can be measured and improved.
Important: Because these cookies are set on your website, they should be reflected in your cookie banner and cookie policy. Under ePrivacy rules, non-essential cookies, including statistics cookies, generally need consent through your consent tool. See "Where to show your privacy information" for placement tips.
